Grooming Packages Available here at Happy Tails Depending on the length of hair on your dog BEFORE we start, the grooming process can range from 1-4+hrs total (including drying time) IF you need your dog out quickly, we do have an option to bump to the top of the list for an express groom, with an additional $10 - $25 charge. Let us know when you book your appointment if this is something you require. Otherwise, dogs are typically groomed in the order they come in. If your dog is severely matted, there may be a pre clipping or brush out charge($5-$80 per session depending on severity) on your service as we will sometimes need to clip the dog before it is even bathed. If you have any questions give us a call! 336-386-3861
First, we start with a bath, then dry, then let the grooming begin!
Standard Full Groom - Our most popular package that is a full groom from feet, face, sanitary area/tail and all in between. We can add our own artistic touch or if you have something special you are after, just let us know when you bring your dog in. Each time you come we keep meticulous records on what groom you had previously, down to the length of guard used on the clippers and whether hand scissoring or shaping was used, where, and any other issues needed to be remembered about your friend so we keep what you like on file and can reproduce that each time you come in.
A full groom package can be done on any size dog, with specialty cuts available on schnauzers, poodles, bichons, shihtzus, westies and so on.
Standard Nail trimming is included in the package. Most packages are $50-$75, with some mini schnauzer, westie, and poodle shape ups running $10-$20 more depending on the style.
This pricing tier is for dogs up to 20#. Bigger dogs ranging from 21-40# will run around $65 to $95, and the even larger varieties are $100 to $175+ (standard poodles, doodles, airdales, giant schnauzers, for instance)
Partial or "Mini" Groom - Also known here as the "face feet and tail", this option is perfect for those touch ups between grooms where you don't need the body clipped, but want the face, feet, and sanitary area/tail clipped up and kept tidy. This can be with or without the nails, depending on if they are needed. This is also a great choice for larger dogs that go both in and outside to keep the sanitary area clean, legs and feet clipped, and under the eye area. Clipping the hair on the bottom of the feet and behind the legs makes for a cleaner inside/outside trip and less clean up for you to do with tracking dirt/sand and who knows what else - inside your home! The partial groom also is accompanied by one of our bathing packages before the grooming starts. The Face Feet and Tail option starts at $35
De - Shedding - We can groom your dog and gently pull out the undercoat, which will greatly reduce remaining shedding between grooms. This is usually in conjunction with a full groom or partial groom package. We have a "deshed treatment" that is done in the bath with conditioning formula, that is accompanied by the De Shed groom. Small desheds with nails start at $25!
Body Clipping/"Shave Downs" usually done once or twice a year - "take it all off" grooms on bigger dogs will start in the $65 range. Without assessing the coat we cannot quote a definite price on shavedowns because the coat condition = amount of work to be done. We can do a full body clip on your dog or a partial clip which is helpful in the summer months during the peak shed times to make cleaning up after your pet easier. Body clipping is not natural for most breeds and there are some considerations to take into account before using this as an option... shaving your dog down will not end shedding or the shed cycle but will result in shorter hair being shed until the coat grows back out.
WE DO NOT SHAVE DOWN FULL HUSKYS,GOLDENS,AUSSIES, GSD's GREAT PYRANEES or double coated dogs...unless it is for a medical reason or if the coat has already been damaged from years and years of someone else shaving them down... but the deshed and undercoat blowout is worth a try to see the dramatic results in this process for your double coated dog...especially if you are adamant about "wanting to keep them cool" those breeds have a very different cooling system, that is actually WITH their double coats. Read about that HERE
Feline Grooming- Yes, we do groom cats! We will not bathe cats, but we will shave them if they are accepting of it, and can even mold the "lion cut" as seen below. Most cat grooms start at $75
