What do you get in a bath package here at Happy Tails?
- Pets are brought in and placed in holding crates or suite rooms (we have big crates so your baby does not have to be uncomfortable!) and wait in line to be bathed according to when they come in.
We offer express grooms and bsths with notice - ***If you need your dog out EARLIER please let us know this WHEN YOU MAKE THE APPOINTMENT not when you drop your dog off - so we can schedule accordingly. We want our clients happy! Everyone wants their dog out as fast as they can, but we DO NOT want to sacrifice quality for time. Thank you!
- The bather, will put your dog into one of our big bathtubs and prepare the ears for hair removal(we talk about the benefits of this on our facts page) and ear cleaning, then your dog is rinsed with luke warm tepid water, anal glands are expressed(we talk about the importance of that on the facts page too) and then we start with a special facial cleaning shampoo that will not sting or hurt the eyes and is safe in case any is licked or ingested during bathing - then we move on to the shampoo and/or conditioner
Our classic bath and nail package includes Tropiclean Scent of the Month shampoo, blow dry(we have special blowers, not an actual hair dryer like what people use that gets so hot! :) and brushing out. Ear cleaning and anal gland attention, and nail clipping (and if your pet allows, we use the dremel to smooth the edges of the nail so they are not as rough) this is also the beginning process for our Grooming Packages as well.
We offer additional shampoo and conditioning treatment selections to help with your pets needs, you can choose to upgrade to:
Whitening - This shampoo brings out the bright pearl white on any light colored coat, including the "painted" dog varieties - and will not harm any other color. Continued use will help with staining (eyes, beard on some breeds, and ears) when used in conjunction with one of our in between groom facial cleansers the results are noticeably different! Used as needed on white coats.
Soothing - This treatment is a soothing deep cleaning oxy shampoo and conditioning 2 step process from our Tropiclean product line. Very effective for treatment of many skin allergies and general itchies. We have a special formula for grass fungus allergies as well. Oxymed is especially beneficial when used on dogs with skin allergies or dogs that have an issue with dry skin or scratchy tendencies! This spa treatment smells great and puts the moisture balance back into the dogs skin and leaves the coat soft and fresh. Great for dogs with issues mentioned above and can be alternated from time to time between our regular bath packages or used as a regular regimen.
Darkening - We have special shampoos in our professional line that will help darken and keep dark black and grey coats glossy and unbelievably soft. This shampoo, much like the whitening, is safe for use on coats with other colors mixed in, but will make the black and dark tones "pop" significantly, especially with regular use.
Hypoallergenic/Pure - This shampoo is free from any dyes and fragrances that might aggravate any allergy that the pet OR owner may have. Tearless and hypoallergenic, this mild shampoo uses a soap free cleanser leaving your pet's skin healthy and their coat soft, silky and clean. SPA Pure shampoo is especially useful for pets with sensitive skin or allergies and perfect for furry faces.
Deep Conditioning - Sometimes our friends just need a nice, deep conditioning treatment along with the regular shampoo package, or in conjunction with some of the below services. The deep conditioning treatment will help dry, flakey skin and hair to restore moisture and balance and condition the pads of the feet that might be cracked or dry. Great in conjunction with the de flea, as that strips the fleas - and the coat - of natural oils.
De Shed - We offer a 6 step specially formulated De Shedding treatment that will help get all the loose hair off of your dog and also reduce shedding by up to 70%! This treatment is in addition to our regular shampoo and bathing services. Add $10-45 to the basic bath or grooming package for large dogs, $5 - $10 for small dogs(under 20#)
De Flea - For dogs that come in with fleas - whether known by the customer or not - they will be treated and removed by our bathers and a de flea charge will be assessed, as we have to double bathe the dog and let soak in our flea treatment before disposing of the dead fleas and rebathing the dog. Add $10 -$20 to the basic bath or grooming package and we WILL treat for fleas regardless.
De Skunk - We do offer a de skunk treatment for your dog, price depends on the size. Using our own solution blended with shampoos and soaking ingredients we will do our best to get your dog as "non skunky" as we can. Please note that most skunk sprays are in the face of the dog, and once the nose pores open and absorb the odor they will not release from the pores. We can however clean the majority of the dog's coat and legs. Price varies on size, spray severity and how many times we have to bathe and soak your dog.
If you do not want your dog's anal glands expressed let us know, or do not need nails clipped after bathing.
Bathing packages on a routine basis between grooms have a $10 to $15 discount if you book weekly. Many clients prefer to bathe three weeks out of the month and groom on the 4th week. We offer discounts for these packages and you can save up to 30%!
Walk in nail trims are welcome! Just stop by during grooming hours(9-3pm) and we can work in a nail trim into our day. $10-$30
We also offer premium Diamagroove nail filing in addition to our nail cutting $3 fronts $5 all the way around.
